An assistant to Knox County State’s Attorney John Pepmeyer has filed to run against his boss in November’s general election, according to candidate papers filed with the county clerk’s office. Pepmeyer was unopposed in the spring primary, but will now face Assistant State’s Attorney Erik Gibson.
