Panelists at the Braun Lecture

The John Marshall Law School hosted the 20th Belle R. and Joseph H. Braun Memorial Symposium “The Development of Privacy Law from Brandeis to Today” with four panels discussing “The Legacy of Justice Arthur Goldberg,” “Historical Perspectives on Privacy in American Law,” “Privacy Regulation and Policy Perspectives” and “Technology and the Future of Privacy.”

Moderator Professor Steven Schwinn (left) of The John Marshall Law School was joined by Dr. Adam D. Moore of the University of Washington; Marc Rotenberg, executive director, Electronic Privacy Information Center; Professor Alberto Bernabe of The John Marshall Law School; and Kathryn Kolbert, Constance Hess Williams Director of the Athens Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College for a discussion of “Historical Perspectives in Privacy in American Law” at the 20th Belle R. and Joseph H. Braun Memorial Symposium on Sept. 27, 2012. A lively and informative discussion on the life of Justice Arthur J. Goldberg was moderated by John Marshall Professor Samuel Olken (third from left). Guest presenters were Goldberg colleagues (from left) Gilbert Feldman and Gilbert A. Cornfield, and Judge Milton I. Shadur (second from right) of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  They were joined by Professor David Stebenne (fourth from left) of The Ohio State University who authored Goldberg’s biography; and John Marshall Professor Gerald Berendt (right) who gave insights into Goldberg’s time working with labor unions. Moderator Professor David Sorkin (left) of The John Marshall Law School listens as panelists on the “Technology and the Future of Privacy” segment address the issues. Swire of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, as panelists for “Privacy Regulation and Policy Perspectives” at the 20 th Belle R. and Joseph H. Braun Memorial Symposium on Sept. 28, 2012.
